VERIFY THE PERSON, PROTECT THE CONVERSATION

Private conversation needs more than encryption.

Connect through a temporary accepted invitation, use local vault protection and keep delivery outcomes clear. Consider the devices and people involved before sharing sensitive material.

AT A GLANCE

A display name alone is not proof of identity.

01

Verify identity

Use an appropriate trusted channel.

02

Assess the context

Consider the endpoints, network and recipient.

03

Retain deliberately

Temporary delivery does not replace your records.

THE STARTING POINT

Useful controls

Accepted-contact communication, local vault protection, device pairing/revocation, local search and verified delivery. Direct is preferred; permitted temporary Secure Relay expires within 12 hours or earlier after receipt.

A CLEAR NEXT STEP

Real-life example

A journalist confirms a source through a trusted channel, then sends a single-use invitation. The source accepts once. An encrypted text can wait up to 12 hours if the recipient is temporarily offline.

START WITH THE PERSON

Consider the whole path to a source.

A private conversation begins by identifying the correct person through an appropriate trusted channel. A display name or invitation link alone does not establish identity. Consider devices, recipients and network context before sharing.

A temporary delivery path is not an anonymity service. Direct communication can disclose network addressing to peers. Encryption does not protect material after a recipient saves it or a device is compromised.

Plan how to retain the material you need. Local deletion does not erase another person’s saved copy. Apply the judgment and practices appropriate to the situation.

THE DETAILS THAT MATTER

Source communication, with clear limits.

Follow the controls, delivery rules and responsibilities that apply to journalists & sources.

Usage and payment

One-to-one uses plan allowances. Unlimited group creation is free; every group message, file and call uses separate pay-as-you-go accounting. Sender pays messages/files; initiating caller pays calls; receivers pay nothing.

Responsibilities

Sornix is not a promise of anonymity or source protection against every threat. Direct communication may reveal network addressing to peers; a compromised device or recipient can expose content. Avoid identifying claims and assess the situation before contact.

YOUR CONVERSATION. YOUR NEXT STEP.

Protect the conversation with informed choices.

Continue in Sornix to set up your identity, manage your devices and use the communication tools. Choose your contacts deliberately, protect local access and review paid usage before starting.
