AT A GLANCE

Free files travel Direct.

01

Direct

A reachable device-to-device delivery path.

02

Secure Relay

Permitted relay is available on Plus and Pro.

03

Receipt

The complete recipient file is verified before receipt.

THE STARTING POINT

Choose the delivery path

Direct sends between reachable devices without an offline payload store. Plus and Pro also support permitted Secure Relay and temporary encrypted delivery for a recipient who returns later. Free file payloads are Direct only; an unavailable Direct connection offers retry rather than automatic paid relay.

A CLEAR NEXT STEP

Transfer controls

See progress percentage, remaining size and Cancel. Supported authenticated resume preserves the recipient and integrity checks. A partial upload or download is not receipt. Cancelling cannot recall a file already saved by its recipient.

THE PERSON AT THE OTHER END

Plan around the recipient, not just the file.

Check file size, transfer capacity and whether the intended recipient is reachable. On Free, payloads travel Direct. If that path is unavailable, retry rather than assuming an offline file was stored.

Plus and Pro add permitted delivery choices within their limits. A complete accepted temporary upload uses one intended-recipient transfer even if the file later expires. Direct and live relay count after complete verified receipt.

Keep the original until the outcome is clear. File receipt confirms delivery and integrity; it does not confirm opening, reading or approval. A recipient’s saved copy remains outside remote recall.

THE DETAILS THAT MATTER

Every stage of a file’s journey.

Follow the controls, delivery rules and responsibilities that apply to file sharing.

Temporary means temporary

Eligible offline files expire at most 12 hours after acceptance and are removed earlier after complete verified receipt. Retries and resume do not renew the original expiry. Temporary delivery is not cloud storage or a guarantee that an offline recipient will return in time.

One-to-one allowances

Free: up to 100 MB per file; 1 recipient transfer per day; Direct only.

Plus: up to 1 GB; 20 recipient transfers per day; 100 GB monthly file relay.

Pro: up to 10 GB; 100 recipient transfers per day; 1,000 GB monthly file relay.

Daily allowances reset at midnight UTC. Monthly relay resets on renewal without rollover. Direct uses no relay GB.

When a transfer counts

Direct and live relay count after complete verified recipient receipt. A complete accepted temporary offline upload counts once per intended recipient, even if it later expires. Receipt does not deduct a second unit. Incomplete or rejected uploads do not finalize transfer units; transmitted relay bytes remain separately metered.

Files in chats and groups

Chat attachments use file units, with any accompanying text counted separately. One-to-one uses the plan allowance. Group files use separate pay-as-you-go sender billing per recipient and relayed volume. Receiving is free.

Receipt, not opening

One grey tick means outgoing transmission completed. Two grey ticks mean the active recipient received and verified the complete file. Files do not report opened or read status.
