Paid capacity changes allowances, not baseline protection.
AT A GLANCE
Paid capacity changes allowances, not baseline protection.
01
Identity
Private identity material is held by devices.
02
Content
Review message, file and call protection separately.
03
Responsibility
Devices, networks and recipients remain part of privacy.
THE STARTING POINT
Device-owned identity
Private identity keys are generated and held on devices. Contact names, invitation links and payment records are not substitutes for device authority. Authorize your own devices through trusted pairing and revoke unwanted authority.
A CLEAR NEXT STEP
Messaging and file protection
Message and file content is end-to-end encrypted for its intended trusted recipient devices. The protection follows the permitted Direct or Secure Relay path. Encryption does not prevent a recipient from saving, copying or disclosing content.
MORE THAN ONE LAYER
Protection is a shared responsibility.
Device controls, delivery choices and content protection work together. They do not replace checking the person or protecting the endpoint. A recipient can retain material, and a compromised device can expose it.
Read protection for each feature separately. Message and file encryption should not be used to infer an identical guarantee for voice or video. Direct communication can disclose network addressing to peers and is not an anonymity promise.
Choose paid plans for capacity and delivery convenience. The baseline identity and content-protection principles are shared across Free, Plus and Pro.
Follow the controls, delivery rules and responsibilities that apply to security & privacy.
01
Call protection
Voice and video use protected communication. Review call protection separately from message and file content protection.
02
Direct and Secure Relay
Direct is preferred where possible. Secure Relay temporarily assists permitted encrypted delivery without becoming a permanent conversation archive. Undelivered temporary text/files expire within 12 hours; verified recipient receipt removes the corresponding temporary payload earlier. Retries do not extend the original expiry. Free has offline text but Direct-only files.
03
Local vault and re-keying
Locally retained history and search belong on the current device. Protect access with the local lock. Session re-keying refreshes protection during communication and trust changes; do not infer unverified forward-secrecy or compromise-recovery guarantees from rotation alone.
04
What remains operational
Sornix needs limited identity/trust, reachability, entitlement, delivery and security information to operate. Billing records are separate from conversation content.
05
Know the limits
Device compromise, malicious recipients, screenshots and externally saved files remain risks. Direct communication can disclose network addressing to peers and is not a promise of anonymity. Revocation prevents future authorization rather than wiping another device's old copies.
06
Loss and deletion
Losing all authorized devices means no identity or local-vault recovery. Optional Emergency Wipe destroys this device's keys and app-controlled local data under its disclosed wrong-attempt rule. Other devices and external copies are not automatically erased.
07
Same baseline principles
Free, Plus and Pro share the baseline identity and content-protection principles. Paid plans purchase capacity and convenience, not stronger encryption.
Continue in Sornix to set up your identity, manage your devices and use the communication tools. Choose your contacts deliberately, protect local access and review paid usage before starting.
