A CLEAR NEXT STEP AT EACH STAGE

Six steps from label to conversation.

Create your QR code

Create a Hontra code for the item, vehicle or contact point you want people to reach you about. Choose a clear label so you can identify the reason for an incoming conversation.

Print and attach it

Print the code and place it where it is easy to scan. Add a short instruction such as “Found this bag? Scan to contact the owner.” Use a readable size and a surface suitable for the location.

Someone scans

The visitor uses their phone camera, opens the Hontra page and writes what they noticed. They can begin in a browser without installing an app.

Receive the message

Hontra sends an email alert so you know someone has contacted you. Open the conversation in your browser and reply.

Resolve the situation

Arrange a safe return, explain when you can move your car or discuss the property issue. Share only the information needed.

Save the chat

Keep an exported copy of the complete conversation when you need it.

Real-life example

Someone finds your suitcase at a café. They scan its Hontra label, tell you where it is and wait for your reply. You arrange collection in the same chat.

THE RETURN BEGINS WITH CONTEXT

The handover starts before anything goes missing.

Prepare the code while you have the item in front of you. Choose a visible, readable placement and an instruction that explains why someone should scan. Test the printed label from the position a finder or visitor is likely to use.

When a message arrives, ask for the details needed to identify the item or location. A useful report explains what happened and where. The browser conversation gives both people a place to agree the next step.

For a return, a staffed reception, information desk or lost-property office can provide an appropriate collection route. Keep the arrangement clear, share only what is needed and export the complete conversation if you want a record.
